Blakes Seacocks

December 24th, 2004 · by Aaron Tinling, Publisher

Blakes_seacockSpeaking of bullet-proof plumbing, these are about the best seacocks currently available. Not some glorified ball-valve, they are bronze and marine grade (non-de-zincifying) brass. Using a conical valve lubricated with a grease nipple, it’s virtually jam-proof. Just loosen the nuts on the keep plate, inject some grease, and it’ll turn. Should last a lifetime. Available from Defender.

Hi They are not jam proof, mine were left with the lever covering one of the bolts, the boat was left unattended for two years and the seacock seized solid (1.1/2 inch outlet) In an attempt to free it I ended up breaking it! Stupid I know!
