Steve Roberts In Cornet Bay

by Tim on August 26, 2008

Steve Roberts is the original overgadgeted boating geek. I’ve written about him before. In that post, I said “Navagear wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude for Steve Roberts’ many contributions to the world of geeky transportation.”

Well, I finally met him in person, yesterday in Cornet Bay, with his friend Sky (climbing out of the boat). He rowed over especially to say hello, which was nice of him.

Here’s a not-particularly-good photo of his current project, Nomadness. You can read all about it at Nomadness.com.

We really enjoyed meeting you, Tim! Thanks for the kind words, and hello from exotic Anacortes (where we’re getting a quote on a bow thruster).

Cheers!
Steve

Steve, Real men don’t use bow thrusters. LOL…I have one on Diligence, it’s always on and a rarely use it. Don’t have one on Remedy.

Heh! Huge gaposis between 3-blade max-prop on modified fin and a skeg hung rudder. No propwalk at all… it takes steerageway to maneuver predictably in reverse. Add a sidewind or current shear (like La Conner or Everett guest dock) and things can get real dicey.
